Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz met in New York yesterday for trilateral talks aimed at advancing the next phase of Israel-Morocco relations. The meeting produced concrete commitments to upgrade diplomatic ties from liaison offices to full embassies, exchange ambassadors, restore and expand direct flights, and finalize key economic agreements by the end of 2026.
The joint statement reaffirmed the “spirit of the Abraham Accords,” framing the new measures as steps toward peace, regional integration, and expanded economic opportunity. Israel and Morocco also explicitly recognized the United States—and particularly President Trump—as “a visionary leader uniquely capable of bringing peace where no one else thought it was possible.”
The talks followed an event marking the sixth anniversary of the Abraham Accords, attended by representatives from the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Israel, and the United States.
