Says in choosing between ‘faith and our party,’ they must stick with Democrats

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel urged her fellow Jewish Democrats Sunday to place the “needs of the world” above “our own self-interest,” arguing that Jews may need to “sacrifice” even “the very future of our own people” for the sake of humanity.
She cited the example of the Persian Queen Esther, who risked her life to save the Jewish people when they faced the threat of extinction in the Persian Empire.
“It is perhaps up to us now to follow in her path and sacrifice the comfort, safety, and security, and even the very future of our own people in exchange for the opportunity to save the rest of humanity,” Nessel said, according to a video of remarks obtained by the Detroit News.
The Michigan attorney general said Jewish Democrats have a “moral imperative to place the needs of the world above even our own self-interest.”
