Are We in the Last Days (Prelim 1985)01“There is a mighty battle that is coming, and it is well now on its way,” words of a song by the legendary Roy Acuff recorded by the great hank Williams, Sr more than 60 years ago sums up what we are waiting for.  As the song states, it will be a sad day for the inhabitants of this world, and although we do not know the exact hour of this event, we were given by Christ a list of world events to watch and then how to prepare ourselves if we are the ones that will live during these times.

In Matthew 24 and Revelation 16, we are told that great armies will prepare for an end time great last battle which will plunge the earth into the greatest upheaval since the flood of Noah.  This is an event that will happen, as God is never wrong. We can hope and pray that it is not during our time, but it is best to always assume hat it could be. What are we to do? Build bomb shelters, or run to the desert?  Jesus actually told us not to be troubled, when all of this starts because this last battle must happen before His return to earth to rule it, subdue it and to end poverty, strife, war and death. The Day of the LORD will be hard for all, but those who stand by Christ, will see all of their preparation come to fruition.  Christ promised that after these horrible times, He is coming – and with him eternal life without fear of death, without sorrow or pain.

We must live everyday in this world, but we must also live everyday preparing ourselves just in case that day comes.
