TAMPA, Florida – A Florida candidate for U.S. Congress with a passionate disdain for Donald Trump is raising eyebrows with a photo himself sporting the numbers “86 47” on his hat and front license plate, a number which some see as a threat to kill the 47th president.
“Meet Mark Davis. He’s running for Congress in Florida,” says LibsofTikTok which is sharing the photo online. “He proudly posed with an ‘8647’ hat and license plate which signifies killing Trump. He says it’s not just merch, it’s a ‘mission.’
“Extremely alarming,” LibsofTikTok continued. “What does he mean when he says 8647 is a ‘mission’?”
Just an FYI. the definition of 86 mainly means”
1. To get rid of / eliminate / cancel
This is the most common meaning today.
“They 86’d the item from the menu.”
“The project got 86’d.”
It means something is removed, ended, or discarded.
2. To refuse service or eject someone (especially bars/restaurants)
“That guy was drunk and belligerent, so the bartender 86’d him.”
In this sense, it means cut off, kicked out, or banned.
