‘Why is a child-care center directly going to the office of the governor? Make it make sense’

By Joe Kovacs

A TikTok user is sounding the alarm about Minnesota daycare fraud, as he has documented himself calling the Google-listed phone number of one center, only to reach the office of Democrat Gov. Tim Walz.
“This is absolutely mind-blowing,” says the TikTokker with a handle of conservativeimmigrant, who explains he was “watching the most recent video by Nick Shirley exposing these daycare centers.” That mega-viral video has more than 113 million views in three days.
The man phoned the Google-listed number of 651-201-3400 for Sweet Angel Child Care in Minneapolis.
This is what I talked about in my noontime broadcast about stories being published by leading newsites like WND that is fake news.. This is happening with news sites on the left and right. Facebook, tie Tok are full of these propaganda lies!
Here are the facts:
There is a viral claim circulating on TikTok and X that a user called a Google-listed phone number for a Minnesota daycare — Sweet Angel Child Care — and that it somehow reached the office of Gov. Tim Walz instead. This has been reported in pieces circulating online today as part of the larger Minnesota fraud controversy.
That claim is not independently verified
At this point there is no reliable confirmation from mainstream or independent news outlets that the voicemail or number actually connects directly to the actual office phone line of Governor Walz. Those reports you’re seeing come from partisan or right-leaning sites repeating the TikTok claim — not verified government or press sources affirming it.
What is true and verified: A broader controversy over potential fraud in Minnesota’s child care and social service funding has gained national attention. Federal investigators from DHS/FBI are actively looking into large-scale fraud, and videos by independent journalists (like Nick Shirley) showing apparently inactive child care centers have been widely shared. AP News
Republicans (including U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer) have publicly pressed Gov. Walz over a particular Minnesota daycare (the Quality Learning Center) that reportedly received millions in funding despite showing little evidence of servicing children at the time of a video visit.
his office have denied wrongdoing, and his spokespeople note that investigations and oversight are ongoing.
🚨 Key point: (AI search)
The specific email/phone routing claim — that a Google-listed daycare number actually rings into Gov. Walz’s office — has not been verified by reputable news organizations yet and should be considered unconfirmed rumor circulating online, not established fact.
