Invites Americans to gather on National Mall to pray and give thanks
By Bob Unruh

A good number of the Founders of the United States were, in fact, Christian. Some were not.
But all of them embedded in both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution a long list of spiritual references.
For example, the Declaration references, “Laws of nature and of Nature’s God,” and “Endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights” and “Firm reliance on the protection of divine providence.”
The Constitution cites, “No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States” and “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”
